Precise Rehab is a team of physiotherapists that specializes in sports and musculoskeletal areas. This includes the sedentary population whether young or old.

Our purpose is personal– we provide intimate care and support to anyone who comes in through our doors. Started off in 2017 and now with 5 branches around KL and PJ, our passion to bring quality physiotherapy services with a goal to help people move pain free and achieve their best function.

The Therapists behind the practice

Precise Rehab was founded by two physiotherapists Ong Lip Qin & Frederick Khoo. Both of them have been in the industry for over 10 years and have numerous experience that advocates moving efficiently as a form of building a sustainable lifestyle.

Conversation with the physiotherapists

What are some of the most common work related injuries you see? And how do you treat them?

Definitely low back injuries followed by neck and wrist injuries. These are common especially in our clients who are working at their desk everyday. The lack of active movements and maintaining a static posture especially during work leads to stiffness overall the joints in addition to cumulated muscle tension that results in pain and faulty movement patterns. These gradual day to day habits lead to dysfunctions in the joints.

In Precise Rehab, we conduct thorough assessments and personalized treatment plans for each of our clients based on their needs. Our goal is not just to manage the pain, but to achieve sustainability and longevity for the body to achieve its optimal performance, functionally in our daily activities as well as in the sports person. We emphasize on active rehabilitation in order to achieve this long term goal.

What are the common spine related problems for children among your patients? And is there some advice you can give to concerned parents?

We commonly see postural issues which are caused by their daily lifestyle. For children, the prolonged posture of carrying school bags and spending time on the desk at school and doing homework leads to postural problems. Similarly in adults as well, long hours spent at the desk, daily driving are some examples that constantly puts us into a rounded position which our body may adapt to. However, there is no perfect posture. What's important is to have the awareness created to know when our body is too stagnant in one extreme position for most time of the day. This is why we emphasize heavily on active rehab/ prehab. Education is the key, to let their children know and understand how these faulty postures will lead to injury and dysfunctions in the body.

How do you feel about the awareness of ergonomics here in Malaysia?

Apart from an active lifestyle, there is a need to improve the awareness of ergonomics. Spending long hours at the desk, it is important to have an optimal working environment. There are physiotherapists who conducts ergonomic assessment at workplace to reduce occupational hazards!

Why do you recommend using ergonomic furniture?

Everyone should use and have a good idea about their ergonomics at their workplace especially individuals who spends long hour of sitting as their nature of job.
